I have some trouble with the User Interface of Ethereal.
I am new to Ethereal, and do hope somebody can help me.

I am using Ethereal version 0.8.20 and Windows NT 4.0 (nobody's perfect, can
the Unix folks foregive me?).
Ethereal is installed on my PC in
    D:\Program Files\Ethereal
and the parameters went automatically in
    C:\.ethereal\

Of course, I got the trouble with 256 colors, but went through after
consulting the Q3.14 answer.
Now, I have two questions for which I couldn't find the answer on-line.

QUESTION 1 :

The on-line documentation (version 0.8.19) says that in the menus
   Edit... Capture Filters...
   Edit... Display Filters...
there should be four buttons (OK, Apply, Save & Close)
But actually, I can see only two buttons (Save & Close)

So, I can define and save filters, but not apply them to my current display
nor capture, which is of very little use.

QUESTION 2

The preference parameters are well stored in the
    C:\.ethereal\preferences
file, but they are not taken into account by the program when I launch it.
Example :
I have defined a file for printing.
The preferences file reflects properly what I want :

######## Printing ########

# Can be one of "text" or "postscript".
print.format: text

# Can be one of "command" or "file".
print.destination: file

# This is the file that gets written to when the destination is set to
"file"
print.file: d:\temp\ethereal.out

# Output gets piped to this command when the destination is set to "command"
print.command: lpr

But when I open Etherreal and ask for printing, the default parameters are
still set to Print on command "lpr", and no file is specified for file
printing.

Looks like my default option of not resolving addresses to names is not
taken into account either.

Thanks in advance for your advise.
