0.8.19 is out, and fixes a number of bugs, so you should get that one:

	http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Gtk/ethereal-0.8.19/

(or get it from the German or French mirrors).

According to the page at

	http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Gtk/ethereal-0.8.18/

that's not *all* the required products; the list on that page is

Dependencies: glib gtk+ libpcap snmp zlib

"snmp" wasn't in the list of packages you mentioned and...

> /usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't open shared library: /opt/snmp/lib/libsnmp.sl

...it looks as if it's not finding the SNMP library.

0.8.19 (which, as indicated, is the one you should get) also requires
the SNMP package.

Uninstall 0.8.18, go to

	http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Gtk/ethereal-0.8.19/

and follow the "snmp" link to

	http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Development/Libraries/snmp-1.14/

and download install that package, then download and install 0.8.19.
