You can remove the restriction by changing line 472 of
ui/qt/display_filter_edit.cpp from

        if (field_dots > pfname.count('.') && field_word.startsWith(pfname)) {

to

        if (field_dots > pfname.count('.') /* && field_word.startsWith(pfname)
*/) {

As the preceding comment says, this slows things down considerably, at least on
my Windows VM.
