This bug was originally described under bug 6104, but moved to its own bug
since it's a separate issue from that one.  As reported earlier:

When using the Edit -> Preferences -> Capture -> Edit -> "device search box",
the cursor does not move forward fast enough to keep up with your typing, so if
you
type something like this:

    "\Device\NPF_{1..."

you might see something weird like this instead:

    "\ee\NPF_{1vicD"

... and thus the search for that mess fails of course.
