... I will say, however, that I'm a bit surprised that when I'm logged on as
root that "dumpcap -w ..."  gets a permissions error when attempting to write a
file to a 'non-root' directory.

Is this the expected behaviour ?

(I know, I know: not supposed to run logged on as root ....).

(My system: Fedora 8; dumpcap installed suid with owner:group = root:root).
