I'm running the latest version of Wireshark on a WinXP machine and I can make
the wireshark.exe process eat RAM memory like hell. This problem is
reproduceable every time.

I start Wireshark and I start my favourite Virtual Desktop manager "Vern"

Each time I switch virtual desktop, the wireshark process grows 1-2 MB in size!
Since I have twelve virtual desktops and usually put different applications on
their own respective desktops, there will be quite a lot of desktop switching.
In only one hour, the wireshark process is >100MB in size, and the system start
swapping and become unresponsive.

I don't know whether the problem lies within Wireshark itself, in the GTK
framework or in Vern. I just observed the problem just now.

I've been using Vern on a daily basis for >5 years (on Win2k and WinXP) and
have never come across the same problem, so I guess the problem is not in Vern.
