I had tried ethereal with several computers and it worked perfect, other applications stayed intact until I tried it with my laptop that uses Proxim Orinoco 802.11b Gold Client PC card (8420-WD). The problem was that when I ran ethereal, I still saw packets were captured but during the time it was running I could not browse the Internet no matter with IE or Firefox. I tried turn off the promiscuous mode, but the problem still remained. After stopping ethereal, I could browse webpage normally again.
 
I have also checked at http://micro-logix.com/WinPcap/supported.asp and saw that winpcap works well with my wireless card.
 
Could anyone please explain this for me? Can this problem be fixed?
