I did some more trials with the Save As problem
- Used pre-built 0.10.6 Solaris binaries from ethereal.com instead of the
binaries I built
- Used pre-built 0.10.6 Solaris binaries from ethereal.com, plus
From www.sunfreeware.com
gtk+-1.2.10-sol9-sparc-local
glib-1.2.10-sol9-sparc-local
- Took 0.10.6 tarball and built on Linux
ethereal 0.10.6 tarball.
Compiled with GTK+ 1.2.10, with GLib 1.2.10, with libpcap 0.6, with
libz 1.1.4,
without libpcre, without UCD-SNMP or Net-SNMP, without ADNS.
NOTE: this build does not support the "matches" operator for Ethereal
filter syntax.
For each trial, open a capture file, select Save As, provide a file name,
and click Save.
All trials result in this type of error message.
Gdk-ERROR **: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
serial 15417 error_code 3 request_code 15 minor_code 0
It seems strange that it the problem happens so consistenly for me. Could
there be an interaction with the X server? I've used two different
X-servers, but could try others.
