Using today's nightly build (had same problem yesterday), I am getting the
following error with MSC++ build:

------
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'cl' : return code '0x2'
Stop.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\VC98\BIN\NMAKE.EXE' :
return code '0x2'
Stop.
------

What is 'cl' and where should I look for the source of the error?

Thanks,

cl.exe is the compiler/linker of MSVC.

Just have a look above that error, usually you will find some warnings/errors above that, to point you to the real problem.

There was a problem with the latest CVS, just fixed at the moment.

Try a CVS update, that might fix your problem.
