 Dear Ladies/Sirs,

I am a happy user of Ethereal, I am pleased with it very much. Using the
program I have found a little RSVP-TE decode problem. Since I was not able
to found a definite bug report mail address in the Ethereal web site, my
only guess was to send it to this list.

In an RSVP-TE PATH message there is a LABEL REQUEST object, as RFC 3209
defines at page 18:

 "4.2. Label Request Object

The Label Request Class is 19. Currently there are three possible
C_Types. Type 1 is a Label Request without label range. Type 2 is a
label request with an ATM label range. Type 3 is a label request
with a Frame Relay label range."

My Etherael 0.9.7 (C) on Windows 2000 decodes a Label REQUEST object with
C-type=2 is as unknown:

     LABEL REQUEST
         Length: 16
Class number: 19 - LABEL REQUEST object
         C-type: Unknown (2)
         Data (12 bytes)

I saved the capture file in Sniffer format, so I can read it with the
Acterna (ex-WG) Examine application which is decodes it correctly,az shown
below:

                                         ----- RSVP Object -----
                             Object Length : 16
Class Name : 19 (Label Request)
                                    C-Type : 2 (ATM)
                                 Ethertype : 0x0800 (IP)
                                     Flags : 0x00
                                             0... .... = NOT Capable of
Merging in the data plane
                               Minimum VPI : 11
                               Minimum VCI : 51
                               Maximum VPI : 11
                               Maximum VCI : 70

Since I'm not a software developer, I can not correct the problem myself. On
the other side every little improvement makes our favourite software even
better!

Best regards,

Gabor Szabo

P.S. If it is necessary, I can send the capture file, just I do not want to
"spam" the whole list with the attachment... :-)
