Could those of you out there on various platforms try building 
ethereal_static and tethereal_static with 

make ethereal_static 

and 

make tethereal_static 

( please note these will only work after a full 

make

)

and give them a quick run through.  

I've had no problems building a static ethereal binary on my home 
Debian box, but have had some difficulties on Solaris ( although the 
Solaris envirionment I'm trying to build in is not an ideal environment ).

I'm wondering how well the static binary building has worked on other 
platforms.  

Let me know how it goes.
