Now that Graham has given such a lucid explanation, I now know what I am 
looking at.  

But I am being asked to: "Use the hex information in the bottom window to 
identify the different fields and describe them".

I have no idea at all how to do it this way round.  I would much more happily 
use the fields to identify the hex numbers!
