Hi,

What you see is the ASCII representation of some of the hexadecimal values you've put in, like \x65 == 'e'. So the passwords haven't been changed, there must be something else going on.

Thanx,
Jaap

Hi,
In wireshark 1.0.3, when I use "Edit --> Preferences --> Protocols --> SNMP --> Users Table" to add a SNMP user and fill in the following information:
engine_id: 800000a103131313210019
userName: admin_131313210019
auth_model: SHA1
authPassword: \x96\xbc\x97\x65\x2b\xce\x31\x1a\xb6\xca\x13\xed\x46\x6b\x52\x69\x99\xf2\x23\xde
priv_proto: AES
privPassword: \x2b\xce\x31\x1a\xb6\xca\x13\xed\x46\x6b\x52\x69\x99\xf2\x23\xde After I press "OK" button and then return to view its value, the authPassword/privPassword have been changed to the following values:
authPassword: \x96\xbc\x97e+\xce1\x1a\xb6\xca\x13\xedFkRi\x99\xf2#\xde
privPassword: +\xce1\x1a\xb6\xca\x13\xedFkRi\x99\xf2#\xde
And of couse I can not get the decrpted SNMPV3 messages. What's the problem? Is this a bug ? Thanks in advance Cheng
