Download A Stable Release (Recommended)
The current stable release of Wireshark is 0.99.7. It supersedes all
previous releases, including all releases of Ethereal. You can get it at
the following locations:
Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista Installer (.exe)
DSmirror (http, nl)
Here's where the download link takes you and tells you that you are
downloading 0.99.7:
http://www.wireshark.org/download.html
Name of file downloaded:
wireshark-setup-0.99.7.exe
When I ran the setup program for Wireshark it uninstalled my old Pcap
and put version 4.0.2 on my pc.
So - I did it again -
At the end of the install you can check a box to run Wireshark 0.99.7 -
so I checked the box.
Wireshark started
Help About says 0.99.7 this time
When in doubt - reinstall
Thanks,
