Wireshark-users: Re: [Wireshark-users] Generating Combined Captures TCP Stats and Graphs

Hi again,

I've tried mergecap and for starter I combined 2 files. Wireshark Statistics->Summary gave the combined captures bytes/sec which is something that I want. However, I don't know about the graphs. TCP Stream Graph still gives individual capture throughput, rtt etc.

I would love something like a line chart showing capture 1 and capture 2 throughput side by side and also a graph that gives the combined captures throughput as obtained in the Summary.

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Hi,

How about using mergecap to combine the capture files you want?
Then, depending on the capture filesize, wireshark/tshark may be able
to help you with the graphs.

Thanx,
Jaap

At the moment, I'm analysing each capture separately, producing itsTCP stats and graphs for each particular capture using tcptrace. To produce say, 30 samples' throughput I had to put the TCP stats into Excel file and generate the throughput graph from it. I'm wondering whether there is a tool where I can combined the .pcap captures I got and extract the particular stats I want and produce its graphs.
