I just want to make sure that Wireshark is what we need. Am I correct in seeing that it IS Ethereal only under a different name? I ran the RPM and it wouldn't install....I'm not very terminal-smart, but should I maybe do it through there instead of double-clicking the rpm?

Thanks for your help on this.

I am trying to install ethereal-0.99.0-1.src.rpm and I get the error:

warning: group gerald does not exist - using root.
It spits out several of these errors and does not install. Does anyone have a solution to fix this? I saw a post that someone wrote that suggested using Wireshark. I'm not sure if that's what I need to do or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please download a current version of wireshark (0.99.3) and
check whether the problem still exists.
