I observed this problem behavior on two machines today:
laptop running Win 10 home (64bit)
desktop running Win 8.1 64bit
The 8.1 machine had been running 2.0.5 for months without any incident.
I purchased a laptop and installed 2.2.1 on it (latest and greatest I thought).
Wireshark crashed when I exited capture.
I upgraded the desktop's wireshark to 2.2.1. Wireshark on the desk now crashes
in the same manner.
I normally keep "update list of packets in real time" turned OFF, to avoid the
processing burden of parsing the packets while the capture is occurring; an
attempt to ensure that I never drop packets due to CPU exhaustion, etc.
Deferring parse until capture has completed seems conservative and prudent;
having this ability seems very desirable. I hope this bug can be resolved.
