I am also able to see this same behavior. The capture I saw this on was also
solely DNS traffic taken over about 2 days, about 10 MB. I click on any frame
(top, bottom, middle all replicate it) then continuously use my mouse wheel to
scroll up or down. After about 5 seconds (timed using a stopwatch) the view
jumps back to the previously-selected frame.

I tried this on a 5 MB mixed capture and do not see the same behavior. 

Turning off features like line coloring, changing the time display format, or
holding the mouse in the air to prevent the cursor from moving do not seem to
help.

Version 2.0.3 (v2.0.3-0-geed34f0 from master-2.0). I did not see this behavior
before upgrading to 2.0.3 but did not have this packet capture before the
upgrade.
