Thank you for the quick response. We ended up using a field extractor, as
described at
https://delog.wordpress.com/2012/06/25/obtain-dissection-data-field-and-fieldinfo/.
We have a spec that supports both TCP (segmentation handled all right) and UDP
for different aspects. We do need it to be handled by the same dissector for
the purpose of filtering et al.
