Absolutely not. I just don't turn it off because I'm typically testing much
lower update rates and then it is useful.

I have them turned off now. If I don't see anything for a couple of days, I'll
update.

I didn't adjust any settings between 10.9 and 12.0, so I expect that 10.9 had
exactly the same settings.

I don't think there is any benefit for me in having the settings on, I just
didn't take the time to turn them off.
