Don't want to pile on, but as it seems, that I cannot reach both Mike's via
e-mail, is there any update regarding such interfaces? 

We have a tracer here at work, and as it is proprietary, I do not want to
include our patches for pcap, wiretap and dumpcap in the official repos, and
was hoping, that this feature can solve the issue for me.

I would be willing to spend some time to ironing bugs out as well, as my
copmany will give me a student for the coming three months, to work on
Wireshark issues, as I would see fit.

So, I could really spend some time on this, but I would need some code first
;-)
