Considering that was released after Mavericks, that's not Apple's own libpcap;
we don't release our own libpcap, so that libpcap came from Somewhere Else.

It *doesn't* match. That bug doesn't say "Wireshark doesn't list the
interfaces", it says "Wireshark doesn't capture in promiscuous mode".

A workaround is possible.

The workaround is called "nuke the MacPorts version of Wireshark from orbit, as
they're apparently using the latest shiniest libpcap *and* building it with
D-Bus, and the D-Bus code is crapping out very ungracefully for some reason,
and, instead, use the official builds of Wireshark from wireshark.org".

Yes, that means you get Apple's "helpful" "improvements" to libpcap (whoever at
Apple decided to hijack DLT_USER2 for their own purposes needs to be
horsewhipped), and you don't get some libpcap bug fixes, but it also means you
don't get a bunch of D-Bus crap.

This is ultimately a libpcap bug. I'll look into it, time permitting; until
there's a fix and it's in an official libpcap release and MacPorts picks up the
new version, the MacPorts version will still be broken.
