OK, I thought maybe the +/- keys on the numberpad would be more user-friendly
because then you wouldn't have to use the <shift> key for the '+' in that case,
but unfortunately they don't work.

But while trying that, I discovered something strange, a sort of mystery text
entry box.  If you start Wireshark and open a capture file, but don't select
anything, then type the + or - key on the numberpad with the <shift> key also
depressed, a strange text entry box appears that seems to serve no purpose. 
Once it appears, you can type anything you want in it, but as soon as you hit
<enter>, it disappears.
