Build Information:
Version 1.8.6 (SVN Rev 48142 from /trunk-1.8)
--
In previous versions, you could browse to the folder that contained your GeoIP
databases by selecting "other" after; Edit Preferences>Name Resolution>GeoIP
database directories>Edit>New. You would then choose "other" from the pick
list and browse to your folder, Enter or Open>OK.
In 1.8.6, when you follow those steps, it reverts back to the first folder in
the picklist (the user folder). If your database files are in one of the
folders in the picklist - everything works. But if you have to browse to a new
folder, it keeps changing back to the user folder when you click ok.
Of course the workaround is to put the database files in one of the folders in
the list, but that is not very elegant.
This is not an issue in Mountain Lion with Wireshark Version 1.8.6 (SVN Rev
48142 from /trunk-1.8). Browsing through folders works perfectly for adding
GeoIP there.
