Wireshark, in the trunk and the 1.8 branch, now does a quicker rescan of the
file if it's written out a modified file, and doesn't even bother rescanning if
the "save" was just a move or copy.  The packet list remains displayed.

It says "Rescanning" on the quick rescan; that, and a screen showing the full
packet list, should make it clear that nothing is getting lost.  All that
remains is to generate all the data from the rescan in the process of saving
the packet data, and eliminating the rescan.
