No, the problem is with the link-layer header type combo box; there's no
guarantee that the currently selected item has a link-layer header type value,
as we might not have a list of known link-layer header type values and might
just have added a dummy list entry to the combo box.  (You *CAN'T* know it for
a named pipe - for a pcap file, we wouldn't know it until we open the pipe
*AND* read the file header from the pipe, and it's even worse for pcap-ng.)

I've made some more changes for 1.6 in rev 42072 - fixed a comment, and made it
leave the text box uncolored if we don't have a link-layer header type (and
also made the dummy list entry say "Unknown" rather than "not supported", as
that's what it really means).
