OK, after another test, the search does work ... but the problem is that the
cursor does not move forward fast enough to keep up with your typing, so if you
type something like this:

    "\Device\NPF_{1..."

you might see something weird like this instead:

    "\ee\NPF_{1vicD"

... and thus the search for that mess fails of course.
