I thought it remained open because there were a few dissectors that could still
be converted (see comment #3). Upon further inspection, I believe those
dissectors all have "third-party preference files", and should probably be left
alone.  If someone dissagrees, please reopen the bug.

I assume a chapter in the README.developer Guide could be a separate
enhancement (and also shouldn't keep this bug open)
