Execute dpkg-deb --info wireshark-dev_1.4.0rc2_i386.deb (that version as an
example, but the problem also happens for the most current 1.4.0rc3 builds),
and you'll get, among other output:
> Depends: omniidl4 (>= 4.0.1-2), libpcap0.8-dev, libtool, libglib2.0-dev, snacc, autotools-dev, debhelper, cdbs, automake1.8, autoconf
Not sure about the other dependencies - didn't cause unexpected trouble here on
Ubuntu 10.04 - but "automake1.8" is obsolete and causes the package not to be
(easily) installable on Debian-stable as well as on Ubuntu 10.04 (in both
cases, automake1.9 seems to be the weapon of choice).
Please fix this before pushing 1.4.0 out of the door. Thanks a lot!
