For the record: This long-existing packet-iax2 bug had apparently no ill-effect
in Wireshark versions up to and including 1.2.

I believe that after the refactoring of the hex_print code in main_proto_draw()
in SVN 32522 (Apr 20,2010) this crash would occur.
