When a short (truncated) frame is encountered, like Wireshark, tshark should
continue rather than terminate the session. In most cases, a short frame
occurs at the end of the capture and is typically the caused by the abnormal
termination the capture session.

In some isolated cases the capture termination might have resulted from the
receipt of frames that caused a (faulty) network driver to crash the system.
In such cases, one would want to see the surviving frames which might provide
clues as to the cause of the failure.
