True, although I had ruled that out as too painful to users. But I guess using
a colon while maintaining backward compatibility might be another option.

If you're asking for *our* convention, I think the answer is "42." :-)
There was once a discussion on -dev about just doing putenv("LANG=C") to force
Wireshark to be an English-only program (I suggested it as a technical
solution, but it was, I believe, a Norwegian who seemed to like the idea).
