Jim,

Thanks for your report.  We've had a report or two that says the same thing on
the mailing lists and one person indicated that 0.99.8 release itself has a
larger memory footprint too.  I've only started to look at this, but will try
to look more when I get a chance.  I've raised the priority to high and
severity to critical.
