Usually AquaEthereal simply fires up X11, sudo'es to root and runs
"ethereal". if there's an error like it cant find ethereal (because
its in /usr/local/bin/ethereal and your PATH variable doesnt include
that) or it depends on libraries which can not be found, you wont see
any error.
If you launch X11 and type "sudo ethereal" followed by your password
you should see the error.
..or just use my installer for ethereal 0.99.0 which has all this
work done already.

This one does only require X11 from Apple. It doesn't require "fink"
or anything else.

Hi,
I have gone through all the steps to install the Xcode Tools, Fink,
Ethereal, and AquaEthereal. I am trying to get it to kick it off, I
double-click on the executable, typed in multiple passwords, and none
of them work. The password prompt comes up, I type in the password,
and then Ethereal closes. Any hints on something I may have done
wrong ?
I am running OS X 10.4.6
Thank you very much,
Serge
