I replaced bge0 with ba0
And click the "START" button.
A pop-up error box from Ethereal appears with the following text:
"The capture session could not be initiated. (unknown Mac type 18)
Please check to make sure you have the sufficient permissions and
that you have the proper interface of pipe specified."

You don't add interfaces, you capture on them. It's not as if Ethereal
has a list of interfaces and will only let you capture on the interfaces
in the list, so that you have to add an interface to the list if it's
not in the list and you want to capture on it.
If you select the "Options" item from the "Capture" menu, you get a
window that lets you set various capture options, including the
interface on which to capture. The interface name is a combo box - you
can select from the list, or you can type whatever you want, including
"ba0". Then click "Start" to start a capture with those options.
