Hello Vivek,

as indicated by Guy, what you are looking for is possible and I personnally use it myself.
The wiki (http://wiki.ethereal.com/CaptureSetup/SS7) has a link to the announcement that provides details on how it works.
As far as I know, the only PCMCIA solution available for Ethereal is based on Utel's board.

I am the author of the winpcap patch, but I need to refresh it to the latest winpcap and submit it for inclusion. No problem to provide versions directly in the meantime.

Olivier.

Subject: [Ethereal-users] ss7 monitoring query

Hi Guys,

I have a query.  There are PCMCIA cards available in market that I can install in my laptop/notebook and can start monitoring SS7 E1/T1 links.

I love using ethereal as a protocol dissector.  So, I would request you to help me locate the PCMCIA vendor on whose card ethereal can be integrated….

I mean I would like to install a PCMCIA card for SS7 monitoring in my laptop which ethereal can detect and show in its list of network interfaces and I can just select it and start collecting and analyzing ss7 traces from network.

Please do help me on how to create this deadly combination J

Thanks and Regards,

Vivek Mangala
