for me (admittedly under Win32, but that shouldn't matter).

I'm using ethereal 0.10.8 - perhaps your version is too old to support RTP heuristics ?

C:\Program Files\Ethereal>tethereal -o "rtp.heuristic_rtp: TRUE" -R rtp
Capturing on \Device\NPF_{0EA0424D-AD3C-4E08-826D-5859DE547F94}
0 packets captured

C:\Program Files\Ethereal>tethereal.exe -v
tethereal 0.10.8
Compiled with GLib 2.4.7, with WinPcap (version unknown), with libz 1.2.2,
with libpcre 4.4, with Net-SNMP 5.1.2, with ADNS.
Running with WinPcap (3.0 alpha3) on Windows XP Service Pack 2, build 2600.

Hi Lego,
Thanks for your reply.
But I didn't find any such preference in
"preferences" file. I tried giving
./tethereal -o "rtp.heuristic_rtp: TRUE" -R "sip or
rtp" -V.
But it gives error saying
tethereal: -o flag "rtp.heuristic_rtp: TRUE" specifies
unknown preference.

So Can you tell me if I am missing something here. Do
I have to change some preference in the file.
