I just downloaded Ethereal and it seems to crash no matter what I do. I first downloaded Ethereal 0.10.3. I was able to capture some packets, but when I tried to do an HTTP request from my browser while capturing packets, the system bluescreened. AFter that, it would crash in the same way if I just tried to capture packets. Then I downloaded version 0.10.5, and this time it blue screened when I just tried to open the preferences menu.
It seems like I've got something really fundamentally out of whack. I didn't think the software would be THAT unstable. I am running Zone Alarm firewall, and various spyware protection tools, such as SpywareBlaster, SpyWareGuard, SpySweeper, and Spybot S&D. Can anyone tell me if these might be conflicting with Ethereal? I also run a simple IP utility called IP Check. I am using Windows 2000 with all patches applied, and WinPcap 3.0.
