There are previous posts that explain how to correct this. Look for one by
James C. Brown or Guy Harris. Hint: Look under edit preferences for window
settings.

Subject: [Ethereal-users] gtk_window_resize error

Hi
I am fresh to Ethereal. I installed WinPcap 2.3 and Ethereal 10.5a on Win2K.
When I launch it, it gives me the following error message in a DOS box:

(ethereal.exe:1352): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwindow.c: line 3107
(gtk_window_re
size): assertion `height > 0' failed

(ethereal.exe:1352): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwindow.c: line 3107
(gtk_window_re
size): assertion `height > 0' failed

When I close the DOS box, it also closes the Ethereal GUI. Any
recommendations on repairing this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Eric
