If you are trying to extract IP-UDP data *from* a ppp encapsulated frame, try using the pppdump application.

 

If it's the other way around... man... that's just crazy and I don't know.

Is there a way to decode packets with nested protocol headers?  For instance, I pipe pppd through netcat for UDP encapsulation. Is there a way to get ethereal to decode the PPP frames encapsulated in UDP frames?
