The
HTTP authentication token is encoded in BASE-64 form. You should be able to see
an "Authorization" header. In the middle pane, open the HTTP protocol tree, and
open the subtree of the "Authorization" header. You will see the *decoded* basic
authorization cookie.

is it the
software? or am i missing something here? im trying a simple test: i start a
packet capture then go to a website where i am prompted via HTTP
authentication to enter a username and password. i stop the capture and view
the packets hoping to actually see where the username was sent. i cant find
it. i search for a text string and look for the username and it DOES say it is
found and highlights the packet. but when i expand all parts of the packet i
still dont find it! can someone please help with a simple answer? or should i
purchase different software for my company?
thank you in
advance
