Ethereal-users: RE: [Ethereal-users] Ethereal error: pcap: File has 1692792122-byte packet, bigg
I used SFTP to transfer the file. It was a binary transfer. The capture was
done on Solaris and I transferred to a Win 2000 machine.
One thing, I can see the packets captured and work on it, if I don't close
the Windows CMD window with the error message.

Did you transfer that file from another machine?
If so, did you do so using FTP?
If so, are the two machines running different types of operating system,
such as Windows and some flavor of UN*X?
If so, did you do the transfer in binary mode?
If not, the file got corrupted (and the only way to get an uncorrupted
version is to transfer the file in binary - you can't fix a file that's
been corrupted by being transferred in ASCII mode).
Other forms of file transfer might have the same problem.
