I find it hard to believe that it would be truncated in Tethereal but not in Ethereal, given that the *SAME* code is used in both programs.
It might be that the summary display in both Tethereal (when run without "-V") *AND* Ethereal (when you look at the list of packets) shows the URL at its full length, but the detailed display in both Tethereal (when run *with* "-V") *AND* Ethereal (when you click on the packet and look at the detailed dissection of that packet in the middle pane of the Ethereal window) limits it to about 240 characters, because the limit on the Info column is about 4096 characters and the limit on entries in the detailed dissection display is about 240 characters.
