Hello everyone,

I have an IBM Thinkpad T24 with a 100Mb ethernet port built in,
and on this I have installed Ethereal 0.9.14, along with WinPCap 3.0. After running this with heavy traffic overnight, with ring buffers enabled, the program crashed after I attempted to stop capturing. Subsequent attempts to start Ethereal run the program, but no window appears. Attempts to run tethereal -D also do not provide data. When Task Manager is checked, an instance of ethereal.exe is present, but seems idle. This behaviour is repeated when the machine is rebooted, and when both ethereal and winpcap are reinstalled. I suspect it is a Windows registry key problem, but I have no idea how to check this.

Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, what was done to correct it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nathan
