Hi,

I just installed ethereal version 0.8.11 along with gtk+ and glib
versions 1.2.8 and libpcap version 1.1.3 on an AIX 5.1 machine. I've
also installed gnu-gettext version 0.10.35.0. I cannot get ethereal to
run as I get this popup error message when I attempt to configure it for
network capture:

The capture session could not be initiated (recv_ack: bind error
0xd).
Please check to make sure you have sufficient permissions, and that
you have the proper interface or pipe specified.

All the filesets mentioned above installed just fine. I am using my
"en1" interface and I can ping any machine on the network with it.
I also changed the permissions of the "ethereal" binary and libpcap
library file to 777 with no success. Do I need to install some other
fileset to make ethereal work or is there a configuration issue involved
that I am not aware of? Any new advice would be a big help.

Thanks,
