Hello,
I'm currently trying to analyze RTP packets over UDP, but I have a slight
problem. When I use the RealPlayer to stream video, the RTP packets that
are captured using Ethereal are seen as "Unknown RTP version 1", whereas
when I use QuickTime player to stream video, the RTP packets are decoded
fully (version 2, padding, marker, ....). Very few RTP packets in the case
of RealPlayer are well decoded and seen as version 2.

NB: the RTSP initialisation session is the same in both cases and is well
decoded.

Is the problem due to RealPlayer? Do they use another version than the RFC
1889 version? Do they add any proprietary header to the RTP header?

If anyone can help me on this subject, I will be more than grateful.
Thank you.

Assaad Al-Skaff.
