I looked over the link you sent. What doesn't make sense to me is that
the older version of winpcap, Packet Capture Driver 2.02, works fine on
the same machine. I can then use the older version of Ethereal. I can't
use the newer version on the same machine. 

The older version did what I needed, I just think it's strange that the
older version works and the newer one doesn't.
