Hi,

ARP is the least of your problem if you need the sniffer to be nondetectable
on the network.

Get external tranceiver for your NIC and cut pins 3 and 10 of the AUI
interface, this will provide
you with a receive only interface that can still keep the link up to the
hub/switch.

Make sure you disable all types of name resolving
