Also if your box is a multiprocessor machine, see the WinPcap FAQ:
  Q-17: WinPcap is not able to work on my multiprocessor machine. Is
  there anything I can do?
  A: If you absolutely need to use WinPcap, try to add /NUMPROCS=1 to
  c:\boot.ini. This forces the machine to activate only one processor.
Otherwise the capture list will be empty. After the modification the
boot.ini should look something like this:
  [boot loader]
  timeout=30
  default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
  [operating systems]
  multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
  Professional" /fastdetect /numprocs=1
The last two lines must be on one line, but I folded it to make sure
that it does not accidentally get wrapped.
