I have the experience that capturing on the same machine as the one which 
is involved in the traffic you're capturing has it's limitations. Chances 
are you're going to lose packets in the capture, especially if you do a 
"scrolling" capture. On a separate machine there's a bigger chance 
everything will be alright.
